Learning
Primary Education
At Blue Hills College, everything we do is rooted in a deep desire to reflect the love of Christ and to see every student grow into the unique and gifted individual God created them to be. As part of the global Seventh-day Adventist education system, we are committed to providing a Christ-centred learning environment that nurtures each child today, inspires a lifelong love of learning for tomorrow, and shapes strong, faithful character for eternity.
Our caring, Christian staff are dedicated to educating the whole child—spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. Through a values-based curriculum grounded in Biblical principles, we partner with families to help students thrive not only in their learning but also in their walk with Jesus.
We understand that meaningful learning takes place both inside and outside the classroom. Our teachers meet students where they are, building on their existing knowledge and tailoring learning experiences to suit individual needs. With small class sizes, we are able to give personal attention and guidance, allowing every student to grow in confidence, discover their God-given talents, and flourish at their own pace.
Our learning environment is designed to be a place of joy, creativity, and excellence. Our campus includes purpose-built classrooms, specialist learning spaces, and well-equipped playgrounds that invite discovery, movement, and connection. Our curriculum is firmly grounded in strong foundations of literacy and numeracy, while also offering a wide range of co-curricular opportunities that enrich the learning journey and prepare students for a life of service, leadership, and purpose.
At Blue Hills College, we are more than a school—we are a community of faith, learning, and love where every child is nurtured for today, prepared for tomorrow, and shaped for eternity.

Co-Curricular Activities
Research suggests that co-curricular activities boost self-esteem and resilience and so we offer a range of co-curricular programs that enable students to explore new interests and grow into multi-skilled individuals.
Camps and Excursions
At Blue Hills College, we see the outdoors as one of God’s greatest classrooms—a place where students can marvel at His creation, grow in confidence, and develop meaningful connections with others and with their Creator. In line with the Seventh-day Adventist philosophy of education, our camp and expedition program is designed to nurture the whole child by enriching learning beyond the walls of the classroom.
Through these hands-on experiences, students build valuable life skills, strengthen friendships, grow in independence, and embrace a healthy, active lifestyle. Just as importantly, they are given quiet moments in nature to reflect, recharge, and connect with God in a deeper and more personal way.
Our younger students begin with local incursions, such as visits from the fire brigade, while Years 3 and 4 enjoy day excursions to places like Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Upper primary students participate in outdoor adventure activities at Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre, and the following year, they embark on a week-long journey to Canberra and the snowfields—a highlight that blends discovery, fun, and faith.
Music Program
At Blue Hills College, we believe that music is a precious gift from God—one that uplifts the soul, deepens worship, and enriches the heart. In harmony with the Seventh-day Adventist philosophy of education, our music program is designed not only to develop musical skills but also to inspire a love for creativity, praise, and joyful expression that honours our Creator.
Our music program includes classroom lessons focused on music literacy, as well as opportunities for private tuition across a variety of instruments. Students are encouraged to grow through a range of performance experiences that build confidence, teamwork, and self-expression. We recognise the important role music plays in cognitive, creative, and physical development, and we are committed to helping each student explore their God-given talents in a nurturing and faith-filled environment.
Sports Program
At Blue Hills College, we believe that physical activity is a vital part of whole-person development and a wonderful way to honour God through the care of our bodies—His creation. Rooted in the Seventh-day Adventist philosophy of education, our approach to sport encourages students to grow in character, teamwork, resilience, and a spirit of fair play, while developing lifelong habits of health and wellbeing.
As a proud member of the North Coast Independent Schools Sports Association (NCIS), our students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports at regional, state, and national levels. These include swimming, cross country, athletics, touch football, soccer, basketball, hockey, netball, and tennis. High-achieving students may also progress to NSW state competitions and beyond.
Through sport, we aim to cultivate not only physical skill but also a sense of joy, discipline, and Christ-like sportsmanship that reflects our commitment to nurturing strong, balanced, and faithful young people.
