Playgroup

Our Community Playgroup offers Pre-school children (0-5 years) a safe, fun environment to play and interact while parents and guardians connect and share parenting experiences. The Playgroup runs every Thursday morning from 9-11am during the school term and children enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, sandpit play, age-appropriate equipment, crafts, singing, and games. There’s also group reading time and a quiet corner for book lovers. Playgroup is held in the Pre-Kindy precinct and everyone is welcome to join.

StormCo

StormCo (Service to Others Really Matters Company) is a service adventure initiative.

Students involved in STORMCO teams travel to less fortunate communities to offer tangible support to the local people. STORMCO provides students with the opportunity to show their support through activities such as running kids’ clubs, painting and building, gardening, cleanup, and general maintenance.

StormCo trips usually take place during the June/July school holidays, and are organised by our Chaplaincy Department.

Adventurers /Pathfinders

Blue Hills College supports the Adventurers and Pathfinders programs as an exciting way for our students to explore a range of interests. Adventurers and Pathfinders are world-wide programs organised by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. These programs offer a wide range of learning experiences for children and young people and are operated by local Seventh-day Adventist Churches.

Adventurers is an activity-based program for children aged four to nine years old, run by volunteers. It is a family-based program and is designed to support parents/caregivers and provide Bible-based learning and new skills for children. Adventurer programs include games, activities, crafts, awards, field trips, and outings. Club meetings may include a club flag, parade and uniforms. The Adventurer Pledge and Law is recited. Many Clubs sing an Adventurer Song. As it is a Christian program, prayer and worship are an essential part. Then it is time for activity-based progressive age-appropriate classes. There is a series of six classes, one for each year. Adventurers also earn badges known as Stars, Diamonds and Awards.

Pathfinders is a Christ-centred, spiritual-recreational program for children and young people aged ten to seventeen years. The program is run by volunteers who are passionate about fostering a love for outdoor adventures and community service, while helping children and young people to strengthen their relationship with God. Pathfinders offers six levels of age-specific curriculum across 350 specialised skill topics, from arts and crafts to spiritual development and vocational training, and includes elements of community service, environmental conservation, camping, and high adventure trips. On completion of the year’s activities, children and young people will receive an achievement award along with honour badges as a reminder of all the activities they have participated in and learned about during the year.
