Our College
Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy
At Blue Hills College, pastoral care is at the heart of who we are. Guided by the values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we believe that true education nurtures the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. We are deeply committed to the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of every student, recognising that each one is a precious child of God, uniquely created and deeply loved.
In a world where young people face many pressures and challenges, our goal is to walk alongside them with compassion, wisdom, and prayer. Through a range of intentional programs and caring relationships, we strive to equip every student with the strength, faith, and resilience needed to flourish in life and in their walk with Christ.
Our key initiatives include weekly chapel services, our inspiring Week of Spiritual Emphasis (WOSE), dedicated pastoral care sessions, health and wellbeing programs, Brainstorm Productions, and peer support/buddy initiatives. These experiences are designed to foster belonging, build character, and provide students with safe spaces to grow emotionally and spiritually.
Our passionate Chaplaincy Team—Pastor Tema Pologa Fetaoai, Assistant Chaplain Kailah Pfeffer, and Counsellor Kerry Howard—play an active and prayerful role in the life of our College. Together, they lead our weekly chapel programs filled with joyful worship, meaningful activities, and Christ-centred messages. Kerry also provides individual counselling support for students, available by appointment, ensuring that every child knows they are seen, supported, and never alone.
At Blue Hills College, our pastoral care is more than a program—it’s a reflection of our mission to nurture for today, inspire learning for tomorrow, and shape character for eternity.
