Bluey's Canteen
The Canteen aims to provide a variety of affordable and nutritious vegetarian meals and snack options to students and staff at Blue Hills College. Bluey's Canteen operates under the leadership of a qualified chef, three days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Volunteers are always needed and welcomed and their work is greatly appreciated.

The canteen complies with the NSW Healthy Schools Canteen guidelines, where food is allocated a colour coded rating (green, amber or red) according to the nutritional value. The codes are based upon the level of salt, saturated fats and sugars the foods contain.

Green foods are everyday foods, such as fruit, vegetables and grains. These foods are low in sugars, fats and salt and they form the bulk of Bluey’s menu.

Amber foods should be eaten in moderation as they provide some nutrients. A limited number of amber foods are available at Bluey’s Canteen.

Red foods generally include food and drinks that are high in fat, sugar and salt, including soft drinks.

BHC is not a nut-free campus. Please contact the College if your child has an allergy to nut products.

Opening hours
​Bluey’s Canteen is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Food is available during recess and lunchtime.

Menu
​Bluey’s Canteen menu and price list is now viewable to parents on the Spriggy Schools app. Please download the app and create a profile for each of your children.

Lunch orders
​Lunch orders should be pre-ordered daily by 9:15am. These can now be ordered on the app in advance.

If orders are brought in, write student's full name and class on front of a brown paper bag.​

List the item/s and the price of each item.

Total the order and place money in the paper bag (correct change is appreciated).

Place the paper bag in the lunch order baskets before school starts.

If change is required, it will be taped to the food bag.
We cannot guarantee that late lunch orders will always receive what has been requested, however an alternative will always be offered. If ordering on the app, the menu will be live and only 'in stock' options will be shown. If you have any questions about Bluey’s Canteen, please contact the canteen coordinator by phoning the college reception.
